Does your dog choose when to listen to you? This course is designed to refresh your dogs memory with the basic commands and teach new more advanced manners through impulse control. Your dog will be able to sit and stay like a pro, greet people without jumping, leave unsupervised food alone, and most importantly, come when called. This course is designed for flexibility so each owner can address individual concerns with their dogs such as loose leash walking. Every dog is different and so is our program.

Does your dog show behaviours such as barking, lounging, and growling when on leash? This course is designed to teach dogs new associations and appropriate behaviours towards people and dogs to make them feel more comfortable in their environment. Leash Reactivity is a common behavioural issue that requires extensive amounts of time. With your dog in a Leash Reactivity program, they get more practice and repetition to reaffirm what they have learned in class; people and dogs are great. The goal of this program is to get dogs out walking with their trainer.  Eligibility is determined on a case by case basis.

Each dog is developed a custom training plan, however, main areas of focus are:

  • desensitization
  • counter conditioning
  • redirection
  • reliable recall

Consistency is paramount in this training program and dogs will follow a strict routine of desensitization and counter conditioning. We need to change the dogs emotional response to dogs and people while on leash. With multiple repetitions using classical conditioning techniques, our aim is to build the dogs muscle memory and the dog understands how to remove themselves from the trigger.

For safety reasons, walking outside is decided on an individual basis.
